Marky And The Boat Race

English

By (author): Karen Spiero

It's the day of the very special annual boat race, and JoJo and his friends are excited to be taking part. Everyone gathers at the seafront to see the race. The flag is raised... and they're away! Marky stands as lookout at the front of JoJo's boat, and they speed into the lead. Another boat catches them up just as the sea becomes a little choppy, which causes one of their team to fall into the water! Marky speeds into action, and his unique skills are called upon to once again, save the day! See more

About Karen Spiero

Born in Liverpool England Karen enjoyed life in the swinging 60s while attending Stage School in Liverpool. She married an entrepreneur at a very young age and lived in Manchester for many years. There she studied photography and became a leading photographer specialising in children's and pregnancy portraits. She also covered several celebrity events photographing many British celebrities and members of the Royal Family.Karen became chairman of KKL in the north of England and was responsible for putting together a number of charity dinners with celebrities such as Kirk Douglas President Bill Clinton Colin Powell and many more raising thousands of dollars for Israel.Karen and her husband emigrated to Israel in 2007 and for a few years she had a successful photography studio in Tel Aviv. One day on a long car journey she entertained her grandchildren by making up a story about a flying talking dog. They loved the story and asked what the dog was called. Unable to think of a name quickly she asked one of the children for the name of her kindergarten teacher. She replied Mrs Marky. And so Marky the flying dog was born and many new stories followed! A few years later Karen bought a lovely little white fluffy dog. When deciding her name it quickly became obvious that she should be called Marky!Karen says that her books have no particular message. She just wants children to read them and enjoy them and she hopes they will love Marky as much as she loves writing all about his fantastic adventures.
