David Petty antiquarian has been fishing sincehe was 14 years old and collecting rods for fifty years. As a boy his local tackle shops were Chubbs of Edgware and Youngs of Harrow where he was first exposed to cane rods.One Man One Rod was never intended to be an academic tome on the history of rod makers. Fascinating though that may well have been it would have taken time he didnt want to devote to that aspect of the subject. Time and effort for him is best devoted to the hunt - a true collector. The work shows the quality achieved by classic rod makers and the beauty of built-cane.
