This first volume gives the citations of the 1,522 men and one woman whose courageous exploits during the American Civil War between 1861 and 1865 were deemed worthy of their countrys highest award for bravery.

About Kevin Brazier

Kevin Brazier has long been intrigued by bravery awards and their recipients. His first book on the Victoria Cross was published in 2010. He has since completed works on the George Cross the Blue Max (Pour le Mérite) and most recently the Knights Cross in each case listing all the recipients and their burial locations. He has given talks on his work at the National Army Museum and for the Metropolitan and Hertfordshire Police and the Royal British Legion. For this latest publication a four-volume set on the Medal of Honor he has travelled throughout the USA to photograph many of the recipients final resting places. He lives in London.
