He was instrumental in the spread of the Kadampa tradition and emphasized the importance of bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment) and the Lamrim (stages of the path) in Tibetan Buddhism.Jamgon Kongtrul (1813-1899) was a prominent Tibetan Buddhist master scholar and author. He played a key role in the Rime (non-sectarian) movement promoting the study and preservation of various Buddhist traditions in Tibet. Kongtrul is known for his extensive writings and his efforts to unite and disseminate diverse teachings within Tibetan Buddhism.
