Old Testament Studies
The Old Testament is full of wonderful stories and, in this insightful book, Frieling considers some of the best known, as well as some which may be less familiar.
Beginning with the two complementary accounts of the creation of man, he then examines the sacrifice of Isaac, Balaam's donkey, the three men in the furnace, and four psalms. He also includes chapters on the idea of many Gods, and the building of the tabernacle in relation to the creation of the world.
Frieling's attention to details of the text brings the rich imagery of the stories of the Old Testament alive, and throughout the book, the movement towards Christ's incarnation and deed of redemption is always in sight.
