This is the story of an Irish father and his 18-year-old daughter and their 900-kilometre walk together across northern Spain along the ancient pilgrim route to the tomb of St James.
Peter and Natashas five week journey starts as they scale Croagh Patrick in County Mayo, before setting off for the Pyrénées where they start the Camino, the Way of St James, to Santiago de Compostela. It is a gruelling trek over three mountain ranges; through fields, villages, towns and cities, to the lush landscape of Galicia, and eventually to Finisterre. Along the way, they encounter fellow pilgrims, each with their own stories and reasons for embarking on this transformative journey. They run with the bulls and parade in a fiesta; pray with the faithful, and explore the Caminos rich history; they stay in its pilgrim hostels and appreciate the richness of living simply on a tiny budget.
Written from both Peters and Natashas perspectives this is a unique and intimate account of their journey along the Camino de Santiago, capturing the essence of their relationship and the pilgrimage experience.
