Besides his major responsibilities Dr. Khalil is in-charge of the COVID-19 diagnostic facility at LRH. He serves as a secretary and member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) & Institutional Research Committee (IRC) of LRH that are mandated for reviewing the ethical technical & financial aspects of research work conducted at the Institute. Dr. Khalils major expertise and research interests are in molecular biology and materials sciences. He is using eco-friendly and sustainable avenues for the synthesis of novel nanomaterials nanocomposites and use them for different nanomedicine and environmental applications.Dr. Arshad Islam is currently working as an Assistant Professor and Consultant of Biochemistry at the Department of Pathology Government Lady Reading Hospital Medical Teaching Institution Peshawar Pakistan. Dr. Islam has earned his PhD degree in Biological Chemistry/Inorganic Biochemistry from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) Brazil (2014) and Master of Philosophy in Biochemistry/Molecular from Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad Pakistan (2009). During his PhD and postdoctoral research he has been working in general with the development of metal-based organometallic and nanoscale drugs and drug delivery systems and their mechanism of action for the purpose of improved drugs potency and efficacy aiming at the treatment of parasitic diseases such as Leishmaniasis and Chagas disease as well as bacterial infections and cancer exploring both the in vitro and in vivo model of the diseases.
