Storytelling with Collage: Techniques for Layering, Color and Texture

Every collage tells a story through the papers, images and objects that make up its layers. Over 20 artists and the author will share the storiespersonal or fictionalbehind their own collage works, in addition to offering the reader tips for telling her own stories. Each of 9 chapters will offer the reader the following components: On My Worktable (beautiful photographs of what the author has spread around her worktable for inspiration), Collage Story (sampling of finished art that includes the authors narratives or stories behind the pieces), Experiencing Collage With [Guest Artist] (three photographs of their art pieceone of it as a whole and one or two details of it and its written story), Collage Challenge (a stepped-out exercise or project in the theme of the chapter), Notes to Self (tips and ideas to try), Windows to My World (description of the authors life or my home and how it affects her art) and Inspirational Quotes.
