About Robert Kerr

Robert Kerr (1755-1813) was the grandson of the 1st Marquis of Lothian. An independent scholar and a Fellow of the Royal Society his literary works include translations of Lavoisier Berthollet and Linnaeus as well as a translation of Baron Georges Cuvier's Essay on the Theory of the Earth. His crowning achievement however remains his General History and Collection of Voyages and Travels.
