About Allan Ramsay

ALLAN RAMSAY was a Scottish poet born in Lanarkshire in 1686. He wrote poetry in Scots and English as well as working as a publisher a librarian and a wig maker. He collected the sayings of Scotland as A Collection of Scots Proverbs first published in in the 18th century. This revised volume of proverbs has been selected and translated by Luath Press.
