A Contemporary Interpretation of James Joyce''s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

English

By (author): Indrani Deb

James Joyce is one of the most well-known modernist writers of the twentieth century, whose novels are special in that they use a form that he popularized first in English literature the stream-of-consciousness style. The novel, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, is just as contemporary as it was when it was written at the beginning of the twentieth century. It is the aim of Dr. Deb to discover the various ways that Joyce uses to bring out the thematic nuances of the novel. This book is a collection of nineteen critical essays on James Joyce's A Portrait of the Artist, and the author has gone beyond the established critical material on this novel, providing analyses from twenty-first century lenses. This book will serve as a reference point for all types of readers of the novel students, scholars, teachers, and also the common reader. See more
