Mini Amigurumi: 12 Miniature Items to Crochet

English

By (author): Sara Scales

The Japanese craze for Amigurumi (crocheted stuffed toys) is explored in miniature in this fun new title in the Cozy series. These tiny treasures can be used in a variety of imaginative ways - as key rings, charms, hair accessories, in your dolls' house or just admired as cute trinkets in their own right. Charming and precious, these projects may be small but they are bursting with personality, making perfect gifts for friends and family. All the basic crochet techniques you will need are clearly explained along with step-by-step illustrations. Anyone unsure about working in this scale can simply practise with larger hooks and thicker yarn - the patterns are exactly the same. Projects include: Kokeshi doll, cupcake, strawberry, fairy toadstool, turtle and three little kittens. See more

About Sara Scales

Sara Scales began crafting at an early age in many different mediums. Over the years this developed into a fascination with anything small-scale and she began to explore the exciting world of miniatures - specializing in cross stitch felting beading and teddy-bear making. Having taught herself how to crochet and then developing an interest in the Japanese art of Amigurumi it was a natural progression for Sara to begin scaling them down. She is a regular contributor to The Dolls' House Magazine and sells her work through shops fairs and etsy.com. She keeps a craft blog (minidreamz.blogspot.com) and teaches crochet to classes of all abilities. Sara lives with her family in a small village in South Yorkshire England.
