About

Dr. Abdulhamid currently holds the position of Research Faculty and serves as the Principal Investigator at the Sustainable and Resilient Materials Lab within the Center for Integrative Petroleum Research (CIPR) College of Petroleum Engineering and Geoscience (CPG) at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Abdulhamid earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Science from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in 2019 with a thesis titled Structure/property relationships of polyimides with intrinsic microporosity and their gas transport performance and subsequently spent about three years as a postdoc at KAUST dedicated to advancing polymeric membranes for energy-efficient separations. His ongoing research endeavors encompass the development of polymers for diverse applications such as water treatment gas separation organic solvent nanofiltration desalination corrosion inhibition and enhanced oil recovery. Additionally his lab focuses on developing green and sustainable polymers to enhance the sustainability of oilfield chemicals for upstream applications. Dr. Abdulhamid's scholarly contributions include over 35 publications in reputable journals and he has demonstrated innovation as an inventor and co-inventor on several patents.
