About Michael Burns

Michael Burns is a film-maker whose works include histories of the Surrey and Yorkshire county clubs and four documentaries for MCC one of which 'A Gentleman Cricketer' won the 2008 Cricket Society Media Award. Other productions in the MCC series include: 'Englands Finest On Tour with Huttons Men' 'Cape Summer MCCs 1956/7 Tour to South Africa' and 'Shifting Boundaries' an impressionistic look at English cricket in the 1960s. He has written two biographies: 'A Flick of the Fingers' about the renegade Edwardian cricketer Jack Crawford and 'Endean' about the South African Test cricketer of the 1950s.
