About Abubaker Qutieshat

Dr. Qutieshat earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Dundee UK in 2016. During his postdoctoral research on oral simulation models at the same institution he delved into the transformative role of technology in education. This led him to become an Associate Member of Staff at Dundee Dental Hospital & School in 2019 and later the Head of Postgraduate Education Research and Innovation and Assistant Professor at Oman Dental College (ODC) in 2021. With a strong commitment to the scholarship of teaching and learning Dr. Qutieshat has led several research projects at the intersection of technology and education. He has published in top medical education journals such as the Journal of Dental Education European Journal of Dental Education and Medical Education Online. Notably he developed DentAlign an open-source dental 3D alignment tool and CrossLearn an interactive educational platform. These innovations reflect his dedication to enhancing learning experiences and addressing the needs of diverse student populations. His work serves as a practical exploration of the book's central themes: the ethical and philosophical implications of technology in education.
