In these victory odes, the term τέκτων refers to creators of \u003cem\u003eimmaterial \u003c\/em\u003eobjects and occurs close to the first and\/or the final words of the poems, in connection with key themes, namely: health, poetry, choral performance, movement as opposed to stasis.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe study shows that structures in which Pindaric metaphors are found have parallels in Indo-European languages of ancient attestation: Old Indic and Avestan. In doing so, the book casts new light on Pindar’s language and the stylistic features of his odes, which are in a relation of historical continuity with phraseological and structural characteristics of religious hymns of Ancient India and Iran. The study reveals that *\u003cem\u003etetƙ-\u003c\/em\u003emetaphors and “*\u003cem\u003etetƙ-\u003c\/em\u003ecompositions”, i.e. metaphors and ring-compositions built by means of repetitions of “*\u003cem\u003etetƙ-\u003c\/em\u003ewords” (Vedic \u003cem\u003etakṣ\u003c\/em\u003e, Avestan \u003cem\u003etaš\u003c\/em\u003e, and Greek τέκτων), have a deep meta-thematic relevance in three linguistically related traditions and are an inherited phraseological stylistic feature common to Ancient Greek and Indo-Iranian poetic creations.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"De Gruyter","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57260380946776,"sku":"9783119147699","price":122.99,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0278\/1295\/4195\/files\/9783119147699_9d83a903-382f-4f2a-a149-d9f8d65d9193.jpg?v=1778811369","url":"https:\/\/agendabookshop.com\/products\/fashioning-immortality","provider":"Agenda Bookshop","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
