For more than forty years, Paul Cantor's Shakespeare's Rome has been a foundational work in the field of politics and literature. Paul A. Cantor is the Clifton Waller Barrett Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Virginia. He is the author of Shakespeare's Roman Trilogy: The Twilight of the Ancient World, also published by the University of Chicago Press, and the Hamlet volume in the Cambridge Landmarks of World Literature Series.
