About Michael Morpurgo

Sam Usher spent most of his childhood reading drawing and forgetting to do school work. He still likes to spend his time playing around with ink watercolour and washing-up liquid. If the opportunity arises he loves to make a mess! Sam''s first book - Can You See Sassoon? - was longlisted for the Greenaway Medal. Sam lives in London and when he isn''t drawing he enjoys playing the piano. Michael Morpurgo OBE is one of the UK''s best-loved authors for children and young people. He was the third UK Children''s Laureate and he has won the Children''s Book Award the Nestle Children''s Book Prize and the Blue Peter Book of the Year Award.
