Atavistic Love

by Jon Aedyn King

In Atavistic Love, Aedyn Jak explores the primal roots of human connection — a love that precedes words and conventions. Through mythic imagery and sensual language, Jak portrays love as an ancestral force, something woven into our instincts and memories, reaching beyond the bounds of time. The work celebrates the wild, untamed self while acknowledging the tension between instinct and society’s expectations.

Love here is both intimate and vast, manifesting in fleeting gestures, landscapes, and moments that feel at once personal and universal. Jak suggests that when we follow this primal call, we encounter both danger and transformation, rediscovering an authenticity that modern life often suppresses. Atavistic Love is an invitation to embrace the instinctive, ancestral self and to experience love in its most elemental, timeless form.

The Maltese in Corfu

by Arnold Cassola

Arnold Cassola’s new book, The Maltese in Corfu (1815–1831), published by G&A Enterprises Ltd., explores the first wave of Maltese migration to Corfu in the early 19th century.

While 1819 is often cited as the start of Maltese settlement, records from the Catholic Diocese Archives in Kerkyra show hundreds of Maltese living on the island as early as 1815. The book traces the connections between Maltese families—Abela, Vella, Cacopardo, Quattromani—and their Corfiot counterparts, many of whom remain active in the community today.

The Maltese in Corfu will be available at Agenda Bookshop outlets and at our stand during the National Book Festival. Don’t miss your chance to meet the author and get a signed copy!

Beyond Leyla's Dreams

by Mireille Sant

Her search leads her to dreams filled with books and stories, igniting hope that these forbidden objects might be real. Determined to uncover the truth, Leyla embarks on a daring journey—one that tests her courage, challenges her faith, and reveals the power of knowledge and friendship.

Beyond Leyla’s Dreams is a tale of discovery, betrayal, and the unbreakable belief that imagination can change everything.
