Heralded by the New York Times and Time magazine as the couples therapy with the highest rate of success, Emotionally Focused Therapy works because it views the love relationship as an attachment bond. In Hold Me Tight, Dr. Sue Johnson introduced Emotionally Focused Therapy to the general public and taught that the way to save and enrich a relationship is to reestablish safe emotional connection. In this revised edition, Dr. Johnson has adapted her classic guide for Christian couples. Filled with Bible verses, inspiring passages, and Christian-specific advice, CREATED FOR CONNECTION will inform a new audience of readers, bringing them closer to God--and each other.

Dr. Sue Johnson is an internationally recognized leader in the field of couple interventions. She is known for her breakthrough clinical research on using emotions in therapy and shaping secure lasting bonds that create resilience. She is a clinical psychologist and Distinguished Research Professor at Alliant International University in San Diego, CA and Professor at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Johnson is the primary developer of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a short-term, structured psychotherapy approach to working with individuals, couples and families. It includes elements take from experiential, person-centered therapy, and systems approaches, but is firmly rooted in attachment science, and the attachment view of close relationships.

Kenny Sanderfer is a Certified Trainer in Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Director of the Nashville Center for EFT, Tennessee. He assisted Dr. Johnson in adapting this book for Christian couples.
