Reading Champion: Ella's School Trip

English

By (author): Jackie Walter Alex Naidoo

Illustrated by: Alex Naidoo

Ella is nervous about her first school trip - to a museum. Where will she sit? Where will she have lunch? There are so many things she feels worried about ... but maybe with the help of her friend, Josh, she will enjoy the trip after all.

Reading Champion offers independent reading books for children to practise and reinforce their developing reading skills.

Fantastic, original stories are accompanied by engaging artwork and a reading activity. Each book has been carefully graded so that it can be matched to a child's reading ability, encouraging reading for pleasure.

This story is part of Reading Champion, a series carefully linked to book bands to encourage independent reading skills, developed with Dr Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin of UCL Institute of Education (IOE)

About Jackie WalterAlex Naidoo

Jackie Walter has written and edited many books for children. She never gets tired of listening to and telling a good story. Jackie lives in Cornwall with her husband and young daughters. Alex Naidoo is a London based artist, illustrator, designer and author, a qualified and experienced teacher and holds a Masters Degree in Digital Media. She is at her happiest when wearing fluffyslippers, doodling and within reach of a giant mug of tea. She works mainly as a digital artist, but will frequently whip out a sketchpad and start scribbling when queuing in shops, waiting for the bus, or when hit by sudden inspiration in the middle of the night. She lives with her partner and their two sons, and they are a family of stationary addicts, bookworms and chocoholics.
