Singapore Pocket Precincts

English

By (author): Shawn Low Wyn-Lyn Tan

Singapore might be small in size, but it packs in plenty of excitement, while also being firmly rooted in its traditions. Here, sleek skyscrapers sit astride heritage-protected temples, mosques and churches.

In a compact, light paperback format perfect for slipping into your back pocket, Singapore Pocket Precincts is your curated guide to the city’s most interesting cultural, shopping, eating and drinking experiences, from a a plate of Michelin-starred chicken rice in a hawker centre, to the kitschy neon-lit ‘supertrees’ at Gardens by the Bay.

Divided into separate precincts, each section lists the best shops, restaurants, bars and sights to see in the area. The precincts covered are: City Hall & Marina Bay, Kampong Glam & Bugis, the CBD & The Quays, Orchard Road, Dempsey Hill, Chinatown, Little India, East Coast, Tiong Bahru and Southern Singapore.

As well as detailed reviews and maps for major attractions through to hidden gems, this Singapore guide includes a selection of 'field trips' encouraging you to venture further to the islands of Pulau Ubin, Sentosa and Coney Island, and to the Singapore Zoo.
