Tony Scott was a thrill seeker who lived and loved life to the fullest... He was also one of the more cutting edge filmmakers of an entire generation.

From the grey, industrial skies of Northern England, Tony followed in his brother, Ridley’s, filmmaking footsteps, joining him at a lucrative commercial directing company. His filmmaking journey was an uphill battle, and he stumbled out of the gate while his peers found instant success. And then, he directed Top Gun, and changed the trajectory not only for his life and career, but for the action-movie industry as a whole. The rest of his career was a rollercoaster of blockbuster hits, personal films, and confounding failures, as Scott carved up action cinema for more than two decades with his own brand of violence and a flair for the dramatic.

Then, in August of 2012, Tony Scott was gone. His death sent shockwaves across the industry, and left a hole in genre filmmaking that has yet to be filled.

With original interviews from actors, cinematographers, and writers who crossed Tony Scott’s path and extensive research, Scott’s larger-than-life persona is covered in great detail, from the early days of his life and career, to its untimely end.
