Whenever possible, the author has identified portraits of real and mythological characters or allegorical representations on the notes.
Ronald J. Benice (Sarasota, Florida) is a retired mathematician and telecommunications director. He is the award-winning author of several books as well as many articles on paper money. Fred Reed has been an editor of both Paper Money and Coin World magazines. He lives in Dallas.
