Susan Mayes graduated from Leeds University, UK, with a degree in Creative Arts, studying art and literature. She began her writing career as an author of children's non-fiction, later spreading her literary wings to write children's picture storybooks, as well as creative early learning titles. She is a previous winner of the Science Book Prize awarded by COPUS - The Committee on the Public Understanding of Science. Lauren Ellis is a freelance illustrator based in Kent, UK. She specialises in children's books, concepts for animation and, in her words, 'lots of other bits and bobs'! Other than illustrating, her interests include baking, fantasy novels, comic books and Doctor Who.
