Ronnie Linfoot may be the youngest of three sisters, but she’s determined to do her bit…

Britain, 1943.

Against her strict mother’s wishes, Ronnie signs up to join the Grand Union Canal Company, where she’ll be working on a narrowboat taking critical supplies between London and Birmingham.

But with no experience on the waterways, she must learn the ropes quickly. She’s facing dreadful weather, long days, and rough living conditions. At least she isn’t on her own.

In the toughest times, will Ronnie and her fellow trainees pull together? For even in the darkest days of war, hope and friendship can see you through…

An uplifting tale of courage and camaraderie, perfect for fans of Nancy Revell and Elaine Everest.

'A delightful read' Reader Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'Characters are so real, I felt like I knew them personally.' Reader Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'I loved this book. It felt like I was right there with the three sisters.' Reader Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'Molly Green’s portrayal of the young women, the dangerous jobs they do, and the people they rub shoulders with is exceptional!' Reader Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'Molly Green has successfully created a very different, fully realised eventful world where, as in all good novels, we understand better the strengths and frailties of the human heart, and it does not disappoint.' Reader Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

MOLLY GREEN has travelled the world, unpacking her suitcase in a score of different countries which often became her new place of work. On returning to England, she set up an estate agency business which she ran and expanded for twenty-five years. Eventually, she sold her business to give herself time and space to pursue her dream to write novels. She has since moved to a village outside Lewes in East Sussex and writes her novels from a railway carriage in the garden, and hopes her new rescued cat, Betsy, will in time stroll over to keep her company.
