COMEDIAN RACHEL PARRIS WAS ASKED TO GIVE AN INSPIRING GRADUATION SPEECH. WHO DID SHE ASK FOR ADVICE? TOTAL STRANGERS...

Over the course of a year award-winning comedian Rachel Parris asked members of her live audience for advice. Here she takes those random bits of wisdom - such as 'Be Kind' or 'Never Pass Up the Opportunity for a Wee' - and explores them in ways that are funny and serious, hilarious and heart-breaking. This uplifting feminist manifesto of a book outlines the essentials of living in the modern world; dealing with everything from Tampons to Tories and from #hashtags to Staying Hydrated.

Rachel Parris is a BAFTA-nominated comedian, musician, actor, and author. Her TV appearances include The Mash Report, Live at the Apollo, Have I Got New For You and Mock the Week, and she is a regular guest on Radio 4's Just A Minute and I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue. As a touring comedian she has performed her award-winning musical comedy to sell-out audiences across the UK. She hosts The Power Of A Book podcast, which supports the Children's Book Project, a charity tackling book poverty. She is a founding member of the critically acclaimed comedy group Austentatious, who improvise a Jane Austen-style story, currently performing in the West End. She considers herself a paid-up Janeite and her Darcy will always be Firth.
