Central to the study of pneumatic architecture are six Italian villas connected together by a ventilating system of caves and tunnels, including Eolia, in which Trento established an academic circle of scholars that included Palladio, Tazzo and Ruzzante.

About
Barbara Kenda is a Professor at the School of Architecture, University of Notre Dame. She is the author of several articles on pneumatic architecture. Recently, she was a senior fellow at Dumbarton Oaks, Harvard University.
