According to the author all aircrews, tacticians and those who direct them have to realise the limitations of air power during conflicts. For years opinion has differed as to whether the aircraft has altered war strategies or merely the tactics of war. This volume explores the limits of airpower.
Phillip S. Meilinger is a retired USAF pilot, staff officer and educator who has flown C-130 aircraft all over the world, served in the Pentagon, and taught at the School of Advanced Airpower Studies, the Air Force Academy, and the US Naval War College. He is the author of four books, including Hoyt S. Vandenberg: The Life of a General, and Ten Propositions Regarding Airpower, as well as over 40 articles on airpower theory and practice. He is currently the deputy director of the AEROSPACENTER for Science Applications International Corporation in McLean, VA.
