A cyclist wanders away from his bike in Australia’s Great Sandy Desert. A fisherman loses his way in the Sierra Nevada mountains. A camper falls off a cliff in Mount Hood National Forest. These remarkable true tales could have ended in tragedy... but they didn’t! What happened to three people who found themselves stuck in the wilderness? And how did they survive to tell their tales? Young readers will find out in this easy-to-read hi-lo graphic novel that will keep them on the edge of their seats!
Jarred Lujan is a Mexican-American comic writer from the borderlands of Texas. He’s a 2019 Mad Cave Studios Talent Search winner and a member of the inaugural 2022 DC Milestone Initiative class. Aside from writing, Jarred spends his time trying to convince his cats to be nice to him (his dog remains as loyal as ever). Mat Edwards draws inspiration from the things he sees in daily life. As a student, he won a four-year art apprenticeship where he learned a variety of skills from mapmakers, engravers, and other tremendously skilled artists. Since then, his talent and eye for detail has remained constant, while his techniques have evolved. Whether using traditional materials or digital methods, he enjoys bringing well-arranged blobs of paint and pixels to life.
