Kind Kiwis Kiss Kangaroos; Lazy Lions Lick Lollipops; Plump Penguins Play Ping Pong...There is no end to the things animals get up to in this quirkily alliterative alphabet book. Anushka Ravishankar's text plays with words: their sounds, rhythms, and meanings, combining into sentences that are syntactically precise, yet managing to conjure up the kind of absurd goings-on guaranteed to tickle every child's imagination. Christiane Pieper's joyful art brings these curious and happy scenes to life - every page in the book is a story in itself.
Dubbed 'India's Dr. Seuss', Anushka Ravishankar is one of India's most celebrated children's authors. Her penchant for nonsense verse has resulted in nearly 20 pioneering books to date for Tara. Translated into languages across the world, Anushka's witty contribution to children's literature across the world is widely acknowledged. In 2012, Anushka co-founded Duckbill, an independent children's publishing house. Anushka is based in Delhi, India.Christiane Pieper has worked for some of Germany's most prestigious publishing houses, illustrating over 30 books to date. Having grown up on a farm, she is particularly fond of drawing animals. Active in the field of children's literature for over 20 years, Christiane has developed a range of styles and approaches, but all of them favour a movement in mood, movement and humour. She lives and works in Wuppertal, Germany.
