The volume is uniquely located at the interdisciplinary crossroads of Performance Studies and transnational American Studies. Pia Wiegmink is Assistant Professor in American Studies at the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz. Together they head the international research network «Cultural Performance in Transnational American Studies,» which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
