A new, comprehensive book to introduce students to the Arabic of the Qur'an, from an expert in his field

Designed as a thirteen-week course for beginners in the Arabic language, this textbook allows students access to the Qur'an: giving them the skills to read and understand this most important and complex text. Structured around ten chapters, that progress in difficulty throughout the book, each chapter examines a different verse, including translations and glossaries and followed by grammar explanations and exercises to help deepen the students' knowledge of the language and the text.

Complete with audio resources, this foundational curriculum is a vital resource for students of Islamic Studies, Arabic language courses, with a focus on religious texts, and also all those interested to understand this text fundamental to Islam.

Yahya Kharrat is an assistant professor of Arabic at Western University, Ontario, where he teaches Arabic to students of all levels, and also at Huron University at Western in the Faculty of Theology, where he teaches Arabic for the Qur'an. With over twenty years of experience teaching Arabic in higher education, he holds a PhD in Language Pedagogy from Kansas University and has published many academic articles in his field.
