A rainbow of creativity: 20 vibrant craft projects across every color of the spectrum

Curated by celebrated artist Lisa Solomon, Art, Craft, Color bridges the worlds of art and practical making through 20 stunning, doable projects organized by color — from delicate pink paper flowers to bold red textile creations and zesty orange culinary delights. Featuring contributions from a constellation of diverse artists, this gorgeously photographed book is both an inspirational coffee table centerpiece and a hands-on creative guide.

More than a project book, Solomon's insightful essays on color theory explore the emotional and psychological power of color across textiles, paper, painting, and beyond — inviting creators at every level to infuse their lives with purpose-driven creativity.

  • 20 vibrant projects: Eye-catching, achievable makes organized by color across a full rainbow of media and techniques

  • For every kind of maker: Whether seeking aesthetic inspiration or practical how-to guidance, this rainbow collection has something for everyone

  • Color theory meets craft: Lisa Solomon's essays explore the emotional and psychological impact of color on creativity and everyday life

  • Strikingly beautiful: Gorgeous photography makes this as inspiring on a coffee table as it is useful in the studio

Lisa Solomon is a California-based artist and teacher. Profoundly interested in the idea of hybridization (sparked from her Hapa heritage), Solomon's mixed-media works and large installations revolve thematically around domesticity, craft, and personal histories. She is the author of many books, including, A Field Guide To Color, The Color Meditation Deck, Crayola: A Visual Biography, 20 Ways to Draw a Chair and Draw 500 Everyday Things. She is also an instructor on CreativeBug
