In The Art of Forecasting using Solar Returns, Anthony Louis provides the reader with a solid historical background on the technique and lays out clearly how Morin, one of the greatest astrologers of all time, used it in the 17th century. He then proceeds to test this methodology rigorously with example after example - most from recent history featuring recognizable celebrities and also a few persons known to the author. Every aspect of return interpretation is raised and examined, including those promoted by the few modern-day writers on the subject. By the end of this dense and thorough book the reader is offered a methodological summary and worked example. An essential addition to even the most crowded bookshelf!
Anthony Louis is a psychiatrist with a keen interest in astrology dating back to his teenage years. He has lectured internationally and published numerous articles and books on astrology, tarot, and other forms of divination. His highly acclaimed text on horary astrology first appeared in 1991 and was revised and reissued in 1996. His bestselling book Tarot Plain and Simple is a perennial favorite. He has written the text for reports on vocation, secondary progressions, and solar returns for Halloran software's AstrolDeluxe Report Writer and has also translated into English Morin's Book 18 of Astrologia Gallica on the strengths and weaknesses of the planets. The author is a member of NCGR and the Astrological Society of Connecticut. He is currently studying ancient Chinese to better understand the oracular text of the I Ching (Yijing).
