Artisan Edinburgh is the culmination of interviews and studio visits with some of the city’s finest makers, giving a unique insight into their individual workspaces and the inspirations behind their craft. From ceramicists to weavers, silversmiths to kiltmakers, here traditional methods blend with modern, cutting-edge techniques to create wonderful and unique objets d’art.

CATHERINE AITKEN came into the craft world after a career producing films and documentaries for TV and cinema. It's when she created bags to promote a film at the Cannes Film Festival that Catherine found a new career. The two elements of film-making and bag making lived side by side for a few years but in 2014 Catherine hung up her producing hat to concentrate on the eponymous brand.
