Steven L. Piott is currently an emeritus Professor of History at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Utah and a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri. He has also been a Fulbright Teaching Fellow at Massey University in New Zealand. He is the sole author of seven monographs—The Anti-Monopoly Persuasion: Popular Resistance to the Rise of Big Business (Greenwood, 1985); Holy Joe: Joseph W.
