He has spent more than 20 years studying military history, specialising in all aspects of the aircraft, organisation and equipment of the Royal Air Force and its predecessor the Royal Flying Corps. Richard is also a model-maker whose work has been displayed at local museums as part of special exhibitions and also by Oxford University at its archaeology site open days. Richard lives in Berkshire with his wife.
