Baby and Mama are busy every day! Whether they’re saying hello to squirrels in the park or having lunch in the café, Baby has a lot of sounds to make – Ba! Om! Waa! But Baby hasn’t yet said that delicious, most-coveted word … the one word that every mother loves to hear: “Mama”.
In this heartfelt picture book, Baby moves through the world, finding his way to “Mama” through his own exploration of the spoken word. With delightfully cosy illustrations by Mojca Novak, award-winning author Michelle Robinson paints a tender picture of daily life for a mother and baby.
Michelle Robinson previously wrote copy for some of the world's biggest brands. Her picture books include Tooth Fairy in Training and Witch in Training, illustrated by Briony May Smith, The Pawed Piper, illustrated by Chinlun Lee, Isabelle and the Crooks, illustrated by Chris Mould, and There’s a Lion in My Cornflakes, illustrated by Jim Field. Mojca Novak is a Slovene artist whose pseudonym is Mocculere for her artwork and writing. Mojca’s artwork reflects her interest in human behaviour, communication, and the cycle of life. Often she finds inspiration by observing her surroundings and the lives of others around her. Her favourite things to draw are quirky animals, children, and random objects (like a pencil sharpener!) In her art, she mainly uses pencils, wax crayons, and pens in combination with digital software. She’s always experimenting with different media, trying to find the best one for each drawing.
