Basic Computer Skills Made Simple XP Version presents all the necessary computer skills an individual may need in a straightforward and intelligent way. It demystifies computers and is ideal for those wishing to develop their skills and confidence in the subject whilst working at their own pace.

By using the text the reader will be able to produce a wide range of word-processed documents, prepare illustrated slides to aid talks, store and search for information systematically, and gain confidence handling simple numbers or charts. They will also learn how to connect to the Internet, surf the Web, and send and receive emails.

Jackie is currently an IT Trainer within the Education Department of her Local County Council (Vale of White Horse), and works as a volunteer for Age Concern teaching IT to older people. She writes a regular column, You Can Do IT, for the website www.laterlife.com and is on the Learn Direct National Tutor Database. She graduated in Zoology from Oxford University and spent most of her career in education, first working as an administrator with the CBI before moving into University careers work. After training as a teacher and carrying out educational research, she became an Adult Basic Skills and IT tutor and has worked in several different FE colleges teaching City & Guilds and OCR courses. She is ECDL qualified and has written two further IT books.
