Darwyn Cooke (1962 2016) was a celebrated Canadian comic book artist, writer, and animator known for his bold, retro-inspired style and emotionally resonant storytelling. His acclaimed works include Batman: Ego, DC: The New Frontier, Catwoman, and adaptations of Richard Stark s Parker novels. Before entering comics full-time, Cooke worked in animation, contributing to Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series. His work earned numerous Eisner, Harvey, and Joe Shuster Awards.
