Andy McNab at the top of his game, delivering pulse-pounding entertainment and awe-inspiring, widescreen action.

Spetsnaz used to be a name to strike fear into the hearts of Russia's enemies. But now that the country has gone to the dogs, Dima Mayakovsky - once a revered figure inside the elite Special Forces unit - wants no part of it any more. But when a dangerous fugitive surfaces in Tehran, Dima is the man Kremlin wants to bring him in. There is no option: the ex-Spetsnaz legend must lead his team of battle-hardened operatives into combat, not something you can hide from the US recce satellites circling above.

This means that Dima and his men become Marine Sergeant Henry 'Black' Blackburn's problem. As Iran descends into chaos, Dima and Black are forced to question everything they believed in, and to fight to survive, for their comrades, their honour and the lives of millions. They're on their own. And the clock is ticking?

Andy McNab joined the infantry as a boy soldier. In 1984 he was 'badged' as a member of 22 SAS Regiment and was involved in both covert and overt special operations worldwide. During the Gulf War he commanded Bravo Two Zero, a patrol that, in the words of his commanding officer, 'will remain in regimental history for ever'. Awarded both the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) and Military Medal (MM) during his military career, McNab was the British Army's most highly decorated serving soldier when he finally left the SAS in February 1993. He wrote about his experiences in three books: the phenomenal bestseller Bravo Two Zero, Immediate Action and Seven Troop. He is the author of the bestselling Nick Stone thrillers. Besides his writing work, he lectures to security and intelligence agencies in both the USA and UK. He is a patron of the Help for Heroes campaign. www.andymcnab.co.uk After joining the BBC in 1980, Peter Grimsdale became editor of Crimewatch and produced documentaries on a range of subjects including the Tamil uprising in Sri Lanka. In 2000, he was back commissioning at Channel 4 where, among other things, he took charge of Big Brother. In 2004 he moved to the internet as Editorial Director for Yahoo Europe, where he overhauled all that portal's content operations, and then returned to television a year later as Controller for Science for Channel Five. His novels include BATTLEFIELD 4 - COUNTDOWN TO WAR, BATTLEFIELD 3 - THE RUSSIAN, JUST WATCH ME and PERFECT NIGHT. He is married to writer and broadcaster Stephanie Calman.
