Acclaimed singer-songwriter Maren Morris and former schoolteacher Karina Argow, authors of the New York Times bestseller Addie Ant Goes on an Adventure, return to the garden with a delightful new picture book adventure!

Beatrix Butterfly wakes up on the wrong side of the watermelon bed, starting her day not at all as planned. Feeling behind schedule and overwhelmed by her mile-long to-do list, she sinks back into bed covered by her cozy zinnia-petal duvet.

What’s the solution to Beatrix’s plight? Trusted friends to give her some help, of course! Ellis Squirrel encourages her to set aside her endless list and play it by ear. Lewis Ladybug, Salvador Slug, and Estela Earthworm inspire her to improvise and soar, all while finding unexpected joy and beauty in nature along the way. What started as an off day turns back on as Beatrix Butterfly evolves and grows by sharing her feelings, keeping a promise, helping others, and winging it for once.

As with the beloved first book in the Addie Ant Garden Friends series—hailed by CBS Mornings as “Peter Rabbit for a new generation”—artist Kelly Anne Dalton brings the delightfully written characters to life with enchanting full-color illustrations.

Maren Morris is a celebrated vocalist, songwriter, performer, and CEO. Her music catalog encompasses a trio of acclaimed albums and several Billboard hit singles, including “My Church,” “The Bones,” and her six-time Platinum-certified crossover hit, “The Middle,” to name just a few. The Texas native has received many top music awards, including five Country Music Association Awards, five Academy of Country Music Awards, and one Grammy Award. Morris is a leading voice in music for change and equality in the industry and in the world. When they are not on the road for one of Maren’s sold-out tours, she and her son, Hayes, reside in Nashville, Tennessee.

Karina Argow is a former high school English and language arts teacher. Her love of teaching and writing, coupled with her passion for gardening, inspired her to collaborate with close friend Maren Morris on a series of children’s books about a little ant named Addie and her community of bugs, birds, and other backyard critters. Karina lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her partner, Jonathan, and can be found most days wandering through her garden beds, talking to the bugs that buzz around them.

Kelly Anne Dalton is an artist and storyteller living in the wild mountains of Montana. Her elegant and enchanting work can be found on picture books, stationery, and a range of items for the gift market. When not drawing or daydreaming, Kelly Anne can be found on the forested trails near her home.
