Being Creative is the Easy Part: Unexpected Skills and Strategies for Success in the Creative Industry

English

By (author): Rey Node

Art school doesn't always prepare creatives for the real-world challenges they'll face in their careers. This can lead to feelings of being misunderstood, slow down careers, or even increased risk of burnout.

Being Creative is the Easy Part provides valuable insights into the creative process and tackles common challenges such as client interactions, time and financial management. The book covers unconventional yet crucial topics, such as the potential negative impact of excessive focus on artistry, the predictability of client behaviour, misconceptions about time management, the downside of over-emphasizing efficiency, undervaluing creative work, and the benefits of setting boundaries. The book aims to empower creatives to lead happier, healthier, and more successful careers by addressing these concepts.

About Rey Node

Rey Node dropped out of two art schools before co-founding a creative agency in 2008. He worked with local mom-and-pop stores global mega brands and struggling start-ups. In December 2022 he left the agency to pursue more freedom to create. One of his first solo projects is this book: the culmination of every mistake he made during his 15 years of leading the agency and more importantly what he learned from fixing them.
