About W. B. Yeats

William Butler Yeats was an Irish poet and one of the foremost figures of 20th century literature. A pillar of both the Irish and British literary establishments in his later years he served as an Irish Senator for two terms. Mairéad Ashe FitzGerald grew up in County Clare. She was a graduate of NUI Galway and University College Dublin where she studied Archaeology. Mairéad taught Irish and History before working in publishing for many years. Being invited by OBP to write books allowed her to indulge her passion for research into Ireland's history archaeology and literature. Mairead died in March 2022.
