Beyond the barricades surrounding recent economic meetings, a constructive agenda is being developed on trade and sustainability issues in the Americas. Marie-Claire Cordonier Segger is Director of the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL) in Montreal, Canada, where she also coordinates an Americas research project for the United Nations Environment Programme (ROLAC), the International Institute for Sustainable Development and the CISDL. Maria Leichner Reynal is Executive Director and Co-founder of the Fundacion Ecos in Uruguay, and a Lead Counsel at the CISDL.
