Big Cat for Little Wandle Fluency has been developed in collaboration with Wandle Learning Trust and Little Sutton Primary School. It consists of a range of chapter books with increasing word counts across 10 fluency levels aimed at children in Year 2 and 3. Each book builds reading confidence, stamina and speed and nurtures a love for reading.

Fluency 2 books have a word count of 3360 words with an expected reading rate of 70 words per minute.

Mum and Dad are off on a trip, so Jamie has to stay with Granny for the night. But he’s never stayed away by himself before. His imagination runs wild! What are those strange noises, and silver lights?

Anne Fine is one of Britain’s most distinguished writers for both adults and children.  She has twice won both the Carnegie Medal and the Whitbread Children’s Book of the Year Award, as well as the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize, the Smarties Prize and numerous other regional and foreign awards. She has twice been voted Children’s Author of the Year. Valentina Toro was born in Medellín, Colombia. Her father is a great illustrator, and watching him draw inspired her to become an illustrator too. Valentina studied graphic design as well as Creative Writing. She started publishing her own books in 2013 and since then hasn’t stopped making stories for children. She has illustrated many different picture books, and children’s literature has given her the opportunity to collaborate with talented writers from other countries.
