Collins Big Cat supports every primary child on their reading journey from phonics to fluency. Top authors and illustrators have created fiction and non-fiction books that children love to read. Levelled for guided and independent reading, each book includes ideas to support reading. Teaching and assessment support and eBooks are also available.

Big Moments in Space launches you into an out of this world adventure filled with thrilling stories of space exploration. Discover incredible achievements and near disasters, along with cool facts about lesser-known missions.

White/Band 10 books have more complex sentences and figurative language.

Pages 30 and 31 allow children to re-visit the content of the book, supporting comprehension skills, vocabulary development and recall.

Ideas for reading in the back of the book provide practical support and stimulating activities.

In November 1980, 7-year-old David was on the edge of his seat watching TV footage of the Voyager probe arriving at Saturn. This was also around the same time he became interested in Star Wars. It was the beginning of a lifelong fascination with all things to do with space. As an author, he also loves storytelling, so this book allows him to combine those two interests in one.

Shane Tolentino is a Filipino-American illustrator and former NASA intern at Johnson Space Center. She is the author-illustrator of You Are Going, a book for young readers about the Artemis missions, which has been translated into six languages. With a BFA in Illustration and a minor in Environmental Studies from Columbia College Chicago, Shane combines these two passions to tell stories about space, the natural world, and human resilience. She lives and works in Chicago.
