Charles P. Woodbury, Jr., Ph.D currently holds the position of Emeritus Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmacognosy at the University of Illinois at Chicago and has held the positions of Assistant Department Head; Assistant Professor with Joint Appointment, Center for Genetics; and Research Associate while at the University. He received a BS in Chemistry from the University of Washington, and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin with a Postdoctoral in Molecular Biology from the University of Oregon.Dr. Woodbury is a member of the American Chemical Society, Biophysical Society, Sigma Xi, and American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Woodbury has the honors of Emeritus Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmacognosy; Elected to Rho Chi (Pharmacy Honor Society),Visiting Professor, PMA Coordinated Program for Pharmacy Faculty, (Pfizer Central Research); and NIH Postdoctoral Fellow.Dr. Woodbury has received grants for numerous research projects and has published over three dozen related research publications and books and has presented his research at industry events. He is involved in professional service and acts as a referee for Biophysical Journal, Journal of Chromatographic Science, Biochemistry, Nucleic Acids Research, Biotechnology Progress, Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, and is a reviewer for Petroleum Research Fund Grant Applications as well as the National Science Foundation.Dr. Woodbury also holds a patent: "Molecular Diversity Screening Device and Method", D.L. Venton, C.P. Woodbury, and R.B. van Breemen (US patent no. 5,872,015; issued 1999.)
