Sarah Ziman was born and grew up in the South Wales Valleys. In 2021 she won the YorkMix children's poem competition, and has been highly commended for the Caterpillar poetry prize in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Her first collection, Why Did My Brain Make Me Say It? was published in 2024. and shortlisted in the Wales Book the Year awards and longlisted in the UKLA Children's Awards. She enjoys doing school and festival performances, whether platform assemblies or collaborative workshops. She lives in Watford, Hertfordshire, with her husband and two sons.

Nia Havilliard is an award-nominated children’s illustrator living by the sea in South Wales. Self-taught, her work is known for its warmth, texture, and playful character. She brings a strong sense of light, atmosphere, and off-beat humour to each project. Her work has been longlisted for the Carnegie Medal and the Klaus Flugge Prize, and she has been nominated for the Ezra Jack Keats Award (US). She has been recognised by Empathy Lab, BookTrust, and Kirkus, and featured in reading lists across schools and libraries in the UK and US.
